Truckful Scrap and Money Guide

How Truckful’s two currencies work: earning money from deliveries, finding scrap in abandoned machinery and recyclables, and using Red’s Scrapyard.

Quick answer

Truckful has two currencies. Money comes from deliveries, and scrap is a second currency you collect from abandoned machinery and recyclables. Take scrap to Red's Scrapyard to turn it into upgrade materials.

Truckful splits progress between two currencies, and players who ignore the second one tend to stall. Money comes from doing deliveries. Scrap is the other one, and the developer confirms it comes from abandoned machinery and recyclables scattered around the world.

Why scrap matters

Scrap is not spent directly. You take it to Red’s Scrapyard, which turns it into upgrade materials. Since upgrades are what unlock new routes in the semi-open world, scrap is really a map key. If you can afford an upgrade with money but still cannot buy it, you are probably short on materials.

Earning money steadily

Cargo is physics-based, so how much survives a trip depends on how you pack it and how you drive. The developer says shape, weight and fragility all matter. Slower, careful driving on rough roads usually beats rushing. If you lose cargo to the Ghost Truck, you can pick it up again. Getting hit does not restart the job.

The cheat menu

Patch 1.0.2 added a cheat menu that can give money. Its main purpose is recovery for stuck players, and the patch notes do not say whether it affects achievements, so use it with that in mind.

What we have not confirmed

MythicOwl has not published delivery payouts, scrap values or upgrade costs. We will add them only once we can source or measure them.

Planning a scrap run

Because scrap comes from abandoned machinery and recyclables, it rewards paying attention to the roadside. A good habit is to pick up scrap on routes you are already driving for a delivery, rather than making dedicated trips. That way each run earns money and materials at the same time. When your truck bed has room, a short detour toward visible machinery is usually worth it.

Remember that cargo and scrap share the same truck. If you are carrying something fragile, a detour over rough ground can cost you more in damaged cargo than you gain in scrap. Finish fragile deliveries first, then go scrap hunting on the way back.

Red’s Scrapyard

Red’s Scrapyard is where scrap becomes useful. It turns scrap into upgrade materials, and those materials, together with money, are what upgrades cost. The scrapyard is also listed by the developer as one of the game’s regions, so expect to visit it often. If you have money but cannot buy an upgrade, the missing piece is probably materials, which means a trip to Red’s.

Money pressure and the Ghost Truck

Losing cargo hurts income, but it is recoverable. Getting hit by the Ghost Truck does not restart the run, and dropped cargo can be picked up. Slow down and collect it rather than abandoning the delivery.

How money connects to the map

The world is semi-open, and routes unlock as you buy upgrades. So money and scrap are not just a score. They decide which part of the valley you can reach next. When you are deciding what to spend on, ask which region you want to open, then check our truck upgrades guide for the upgrade that most likely helps.

Route

Step-by-step guide

  1. Deliver cargo intact

Deliveries are the main source of money, and cargo is physics-based, so careful packing protects your income.

  2. Stop for scrap

Abandoned machinery and recyclables give scrap. Check the roadside on routes you already know.

  3. Visit Red's Scrapyard

Red's Scrapyard converts scrap into the materials used for upgrades.

  4. Spend on the upgrade that opens a route

Upgrades can be bought in any order, so spend toward the region you cannot reach yet.

Common questions

FAQ

Is there a money cheat?

Patch 1.0.2 added a cheat menu, opened with X or by clicking the green pine in the journal 10 times, that can give money. It was added mainly to help stuck players.

How much does each delivery pay?

MythicOwl has not published payout numbers and we have not measured them, so we do not list them.
